David McWilliams is een van die uitentreure geplugde artiesten van Caroline na 15 augustus 1967. The days of Pearly Spencer werd eem hit op het continent, nr. 1 in Nederland, maar niet in het Verenigd Koninkrijk of McWilliams’ thuisland, Ierland.
Later zou hij een vaste klant worden op Nederradio via Jan van Veen en zijn (Can I get there by) Candlelight – allemaal niet per se een aanbeveling.
Dit vond ik in zijn tijd wel goed, een single uit 1968. En het nu weer eens terughorend begrijp ik wel waarom: het is blue eyed souol, wat je niet per se van een uitgemolken folkzanger zou verwachten.
