In een nieuwe advertentie roept de National Rifle Association in nauwelijks nog verhulde termen haar aanhang op korte metten te maken met het verzet tegen Donald Trump: “The only way to stop this, the only way to save our country and our freedom is to fight this violence of lies with the clenched fist of truth”.
Nieuw is het allemaal niet. Al eerder vestigde het bekendste lid van de NRA, de zwaar gestoorde rocker Ted Nugent, de aandacht op zich door Obama te bedreigen: “I’ll tell you this right now, if Barack Obama becomes the president in november – again- i will either be dead or in jail”.
