So far the great words Mr. Zuckerberg, when comes the action to back them up?

I want to add my voice in support of Muslims in our community and around the world.
After the Paris attacks and hate this week, I can only imagine the fear Muslims feel that they will be persecuted for the actions of others.
As a Jew, my parents taught me that we must stand up against attacks on all communities. Even if an attack isn’t against you today, in time attacks on freedom for anyone will hurt everyone.
If you’re a Muslim in this community, as the leader of Facebook I want you to know that you are always welcome here and that we will fight to protect your rights and create a peaceful and safe environment for you.
Having a child has given us so much hope, but the hate of some can make it easy to succumb to cynicism. We must not lose hope. As long as we stand together and see the good in each other, we can build a better world for all people.

Nou heb ik geen Facebook en dus wil ik middels deze wel even een paar woorden richten aan de heer Zuckerberg:

Dear Sir,

I took notice of your statement of December 9th last regarding the hostile and hateful remarks by presidential hopeful Donald Trump.
With your remarks and the resentment you express towards those statements I wholeheartedly agree.
As you may know, we in the Netherlands have our own hate-monger in the person of Geert Wilders and we have the doubtful honour to experience first hand how hatred incited by him spreads and becomes mainstream.
In the media as well as among ministers and other politicians who adopt his ‘ideas.’
But apart from the mainstream media and politicians through which hatred spreads, we cannot help but note that also your site Facebook is a platform for racists and even wannabe mass murderers.
I will give you an example of how it works.
‘Our’ polder-Trump Wilders says he wants ‘less, less, less’ Moroccans.
A woman living in Rotterdam who apparently lives through a very empty type of existence feels because of this herself legitimized in saying on Facebook that muslims should be hanged:

"I just had a discussion on Facebook that muslims are good people. ..of course, when hanging on a tree!'
“I just had a discussion on Facebook that muslims are good people. ..of course, when hanging on a tree!’

Bad? It gets worse. Not much later this same woman gets invited on national television not in order to be grilled over her awful statement on Facebook but to add a little bit more to the climate of hate that is poisoning our country.
And meanwhile we have countless of statements put on Facebook by people who want to burn down mosques, want to gas people like Hitler did (a teacher at the Academy of the National Police was among those expressing a wish like that…), threaten people who want to help refugees with sexual violence and so on.
So, getting to the point: what, Mr. Zuckerberg, are you going to do about all these crimes which you and your company are (willingly or not, it is irrelevant) facilitating?
And please don’t come to me with stuff like ‘sorry, but freedom of speech’ and that sort of crap because hatred, racism, threats, wishes to gas people and so on which we see almost daily by the thousands are not ‘opinions’ or even ‘disgusting opinions’ but crimes.
And you have the responsibility to do all you can to counter those crimes by for instance blocking people how behave so awful that it defies any normal description.
You can make a very significant contribution to stop and obstruct the spread of hatred and racism. Not only by speaking out about a racist asshole who wants to be president but also by backing your great word by concrete action.
You owe it to the world and your newly born baby child.

I trust to hear from you.

Best regards,

Ralph van der Geest.

PS. Has Minister of Social Affairs and Vice Prime Minister Lodewijk Asscher already contacted you regarding the hateful content on Facebook?
He promised us, the people of the Netherlands, three months (!) ago to do so but I’m afraid – based on his track record as being one of those who in their hearts cherish Wilders and his hatred – I already know the answer.
