Nog steeds muzikaal moeilijk te rubriceren maar schitterend, en dat is het belangrijkste. De tekst is totaal uitzinnig, blijkbaar ook een getuigenis van een joodse bekeerling tot het christendom. Het geheel nu overziend begrijp ik de bijna parodistische versie van Doctor and the Medics beter. En waarom de BBC het zo min mogelijk wilde draaien, wat kans bood aan het net actieve zeestation RNI, dat overigens door de Britse overheid gestoord werd. Maar het werd toch een hit. Norman Greenbaum 1970 (de opname dateert van 1969). Wel geschikt voor Pinksteren, dunkt mij.
